Mabiaati: back up your shop to Google Drive
Mabiaati is a cashier and point-of-sale (POS) app for shops, cafés, restaurants and pharmacies, made by TAQNIYA AL-ALIYA LTD (Taqniya). It runs on the shop's own computer and keeps the shop's data there. The owner can connect their own Google account so Mabiaati also keeps backup copies of that data in their Google Drive.

What the Google Drive backup does
- Saves a compressed copy of the shop's Mabiaati database (products, sales, customers and settings) to a folder called Mabiaati Backups in the owner's Google Drive.
- Runs when the owner taps Back up now, or automatically on a schedule the owner chooses (daily, weekly, or every few hours).
- Keeps the number of backups the owner chooses (1 to 60, 10 by default) and permanently deletes this computer's older Mabiaati backups beyond that number.
- Lets the owner restore the shop from any of those backups, for example after replacing a broken computer.
How the owner connects Google Drive
- In Mabiaati, open Settings → Database and choose Connect Google Drive.
- Mabiaati shows a short code and the address google.com/device (also as a QR code).
- On a phone, the owner opens that address, enters the code, picks their Google account and approves the access Google describes.
- Mabiaati confirms which account is connected and makes the first backup.
The owner can disconnect at any time from the same screen, and can remove Mabiaati's access completely at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
What Mabiaati can see in Google
Mabiaati asks for one Google permission only: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. With it, Mabiaati can see and manage only the files it creates itself, its backup folder and backup files. It cannot see, open or change any other file in the owner's Drive.
To show the owner which account is connected and whether there is room for the next backup, it also reads the account's name, email address and Drive storage usage. It does not ask for, or read, anything else.
How Mabiaati treats your Google data
Your Google data and your backups go only between the shop's computer and Google. They never pass through Taqniya's servers, and we never sell them, share them, use them for advertising, or use them to develop or train AI models. The privacy policy explains exactly what Mabiaati accesses, how it uses and protects it, and how to delete it.
Mabiaati's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
